M. is a very sweet little boy, but the last six months (between 3 and 1/2 and 4) have been a revelation for B and I. We have learned that the trials of the "terrible two's" are nothing compared to what we are currently experiencing.
However, we still find some very charming and sweet things about our son (in between the whining and tantrums). For example, he is convinced that he is a superhero. I am not sure where he came up with that idea; he has never seen a superhero movie, and we are not big into talking about superheros. But, he somehow knows the word and, in general, what it means. Well, last week, during a visit to the grandparents, Matthew was asked to offer the prayer on the meal. One particular petition caught everyone's attention,
"Thank you that I am a superhero and bless that everyone can be as I am."
Most laughed at the superhero part; I marveled at the phrasing "as I am." Does anybody else think that it sounds a little scriptural? Are we dealing with multiple delusions of grandeur? A superhero and a deity?
Well, we do think he is pretty cute.

(This one cracked us up. It looks like a headshot for an aspiring actor. B. suggested that the picture resembled those shots of "smoldering" teenagers like Taylor Lautner. And yes, those are his exact words. Are you impressed or appalled that he knows who Taylor Lautner is?)

So I had to look up who Taylor Lautner is. What cute kiddos! I love the family pictures.
