School starts for Brian on August 20th, so the family decided to have a last hurrah. In a one week period they celebrated Brian's 31st birthday with family, went to Southern California and celebrated Brian and Emilie's 3rd anniversary.
The quick visit to Southern California to take Porter home also included a visit to Emilie's aunt, uncle and cousins. This was an important trip for her as it has been 10 years since the last time she saw her cousins.
Although the the trip was fast, it was great to see where Porter lives, his school and his new baby sister. Brian and Emilie loved seeing Anne, Brad, Liz, Chris and their families. They were even able to sneak in a trip to Laguna Beach where Matthew was introduced to ocean swimming.
